Website - CMS and management

Websites realized by AlienTrick you can manage yourself. Our websites are built with an Umbraco CMS. With Umbraco, you can modify the website yourself, without any knowledge of code. You enter the desired text, update the page and it's done. Kind of similar to Word! You get what you see.

Prefer not to manage your site yourself? Then we can take over the management. The choice is yours!

Forgotten your password? In the login screen (yourwebsite.co.uk/umbraco or yourwebsite.co.uk/wp-admin - depending on which CMS you have) you will find a "Forgotten password?" link. Click that to receive a new password.

Unable to do this? Then send an e-mail to ticket@alientrick.com.

Have you already taken a CMS course? If not, request one through your contact person/account manager at AlienTrick. 

Have you taken a course but still can't figure it out? Then send an email to ticket@alientrick.com 

Do you have (someone in-house with) technical knowledge and want to continue working on your website's code? If you don't have an SLA, this is often possible. You can get access to our version control (GIT), so we can continue working on the site together. Get in touch with your contact person at AlienTrick.

This depends on which CMS you use, below are the options:

  • Is your website created in Umbraco? Then you can login at websitenaam.nl/umbraco

  • Is your website created in Wordpress? Then you can login at websitenaam.nl/wp-admin

  • Do you still have an AlienCMS website? Then you can log in at websitenaam.nl/admin

Website - General

Yes you can! However, during a no-obligation consultation we will first look at whether it is wise to restyle the current website or whether it is more convenient to create a new website. Sometimes a certain technique can be outdated. Feel free to contact us!

Hosting and maintenance

AlienTrick only offers hosting in combination with a website or web application. It is not possible to purchase hosting only.

AlienTrick supports Umbraco (ASP.NET/Windows hosting) and Wordpress (PHP/Apache hosting).

No, we do not use automatic updates - unless other agreements have been made about this.Do you have an SLA (maintenance subscription) with updates? Then AlienTrick updates your website periodically. Don't have one? Then you are responsible for updating and operating the website.

This depends on the type of subscription you have taken out. You can read this back in the quotation or request it from your contact person / account manager.

Statistics

You certainly can! All of our websites have Google Analytics, which tracks exactly how many visitors you have, where they come from and go, how long they stay, etc.

Do you have a website with us, but no Google Analytics account? Then send an email to ticket@alientrick.com so we can create an account for you.

Rates

The cost of a website is difficult to estimate in advance, because we don't yet know what all needs to be done. Maybe it is a website with two pages, but it can also be a website with a quotation system and a photo album. That's why we like to introduce ourselves first during an informal conversation. At this meeting we would like to hear your wishes for the website, so that we know exactly what is expected of us. After this we can make an offer. Want to know more? Please contact us.

Webmail can be found at https://webmail.alientrick.com/
You can log in there with the e-mail address and password.

Want to set up email in Outlook, for example? Then use the following data:

The default limit is 1GB per mailbox, unless other arrangements have been made.If you need more space, please contact your contact person / account manager at AlienTrick.

The domain administrator can create new e-mail accounts and aliases through https://webmail.alientrick.com.
You can create a maximum of 15 accounts unless other arrangements have been made.

Sender Policy Framework (SPF for short) is designed to reduce e-mail spoofing and spam, by determining whether the sender of an e-mail message is actually true. 

For example, if you send emails through an external newsletter party, an SPF record must be added. You then indicate that this external party, may send emails on your behalf. 

Need to create an SPF record for a domain managed by AlienTrick ? If so, contact ticket@alientrick.com. You may also be able to manage this yourself at https://dns.alientrick.com (If you don't have an account yet, email ticket@alientrick.com as well).

Spam

Are you receiving spam through the contact form on your site? Often this can be remedied (as much as possible) by having the latest version of reCAPTCHA implemented: contact us! reCAPTCHA is an invisible (to the website visitor) way to protect your website from abuse and SPAM. 

Do you receive SPAM directly in your mail (not through your website) and don't have a spam filter yet? Please contact us for the possibilities.

No, this is a service you can purchase from us. Please contact your contact person / account manager at AlienTrick for this.

Newsletter

Have you had a newsletter template created by AlienTrick ? If so, you can log on to http://www.alientrickmail.com/ and send the newsletter there.

Would you like a newsletter template? If so, please contact us. 

Domains and DNS

Yes, you can do that at https://dns.alientrick.com

Don't have an account yet? Then send an email to ticket@alientrick.com and we will create an account for you.

We do not have an automatic system for this: please send an e-mail to ticket@alientrick.com for this purpose.

Domains are automatically renewed by AlienTrick until you cancel it yourself.

Do this only if you are knowledgeable about DNS records. The portal has a revision system, so you can go back to a previous version if necessary, should you have made a mistake.

Backups

Yes, both the files and the database are backed up at least once a day.
With an SLA, backups may be more frequent.

Backups are kept for 30 days.
With an SLA, backups may also be kept longer.

To have a backup restored, send an e-mail to ticket@alientrick.com. 

Security and AVG

Websites from AlienTrick are secure and set up to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation. This means that we have already done as much as possible to make your website technically AVG-proof. In addition, the website package offers you the options to take measures yourself.

Support and contact

Unfortunately, we can't help you with:

Your Internet connection
Network or WiFi problems
Relationship problems
Questions about third-party products/services, such as Google, Microsoft or Apple.

An SLA is a service level agreement. AlienTrick offers Hosting SLAs and Update SLAs. 

  • With a Hosting SLA, as a customer, you get a guarantee of website uptime and a defined response time when an incident kicks in.
    If you do not have a hosting SLA, then the update is "best effort.

  • With an Update SLA, AlienTrick periodically provides updates to the website. AlienTrick keeps track of new releases and their impact. The website is updated a minimum of 6 times and a maximum of 12 times per year. Security updates are implemented within 1 week.
    If you do not have an Update SLA, your website will not be updated by AlienTrick .
