Emerce Digital Marketing Live!
TL;DR
What we learned at Emerce Digital Marketing Live 2025
During Emerce Digital Marketing Live, we, Kelly and Sheena, discovered how AI influences search behavior and why structured data and video SEO are becoming increasingly important. AI offer opportunities for automation, but also raise questions about control and insight. Social content is shifting from perfection to authenticity: you reinforce your brand identity with recognition, humanity and a strong tone-of-video.
The bottom line? Loyalty is built with stories, not algorithms. And it is precisely the questions without direct answers that spur real innovation in digital marketing.

How is search engine marketing changing with the rise of AI and social platforms as search engines? And what are the do's and don'ts of AI in content marketing? These are questions that are currently in play, but with no concrete answers yet. Because the digitalAI) landscape is changing tremendously fast and of course we want to keep up to date with the latest trends. That is why we decided to attend the event Emerce Digital Marketing Live: the place to listen to visionary keynote speakers in online marketing, advertising and media.
That day we attended sessions and sharp discussions on AI, content strategies, customer journeys, data and more. But perhaps more importantly, this is where questions arise. What does the future of marketing look like? How can we at AlienTrick capitalize on these developments and where is the added value for our clients? Because the future of marketing is not fixed, we make it together. A day full of inspiration, innovation and interaction. And we do not only want to apply this knowledge in our work, but also share it with you.
AI and SEO: the new foundation
SEO does not stand still. You've probably heard of GEO: Generative Engine Optimization. In a world where AI increasingly influences search results, the importance of structure, authority and content on your website that actually connects with the user: your target audience, is growing. At the SEO in the AI era session, we learned how to use structured data smartly and how to strengthen your SEO position with video strategies on YouTube .
Key takeaways:
- Claim your niche: become visible as an authority within your field.
- Combine text and images for better indexing and user experience.
- Add a brief summary at the top of your page so readers know exactly what to expect. In other words, TL;DR = Too Long; Didn't Read
Capitalize on questions that are not yet answered. What questions does your target audience have? Work this into your content strategy.
"Guarantees we never have in SEO, we can only increase our chances."
- Etienne Donicie
AI agents: from prompt to process
AI is more than a fun gimmick, it is a strategic tool. In Tijs Nieuwboer's session, it became clear that AI are fundamentally changing the way we work. Tools such as Claude, Cursor and N8N make it possible to automate tasks smarter and safer. For example, Tijs said, "Stop prompting, start directing." He took us through setting up an AI; it was easier than we thought. Most important? Thinking logically and making connections yourself.
What stuck:
- MCP is a super API: combine tools, automate smartly.
- Think workflow-oriented: from campaign creation to content distribution.
- Ensure transparency and control, even in complex AI.

From perfection to personality
Social content is less and less about perfect aesthetics and more and more about human authenticity. Unilever showed that it is increasingly important to focus on the watch time of your social videos, while Matter Content Agency advocates raw, recognizable content with guts: F*ck the perfection. Furthermore, Monkeys & Bananas shared with KIA that it is important for the brand to have one positioning. "We are building bipolar brands in 2025," said Mereaux de Schutter (Social Strategist & Innovation), staying sharp on that positioning in all areas in terms of platforms and assets is essential to establishing a strong brand.
Inspiration from the sessions:
- Think not only in tone-of-voice, but also in tone-of-video. Video marketing is becoming even more important. Add video guidelines to your brand book to consistently carry through your brand.
- Dare to embrace imperfection. Share blunders, human moments and hyper-recognizable situations.
- Authentic brands build long-term relationships, so the human touch is crucial.

Storytelling and humanity
Sessions from Funda (yes, it's Funda, not Foenda) and on Bart de Graaff as (bartificial intelligence also showed how stories, emotions and loyalty contribute to brand value. Building trust and long-term customer relationships are key. Can you imagine that Bart de Graaff might soon become the virtual assistant of broadcaster BNNVARA? AI makes it possible. Because when you closed your eyes, it was as if Bart had come back to life.
What we bring:
- Loyalty is not created by algorithms, but by emotion.
- Think beyond clicks: focus on meaningful interaction.
- Make people feel what your brand stands for.
Questions without answers as a starting point
What struck us? At almost every session, new questions bubbled up about AI, about content, about relevance. And that's exactly why we were there. Not to find ready-made answers to apply, but to stretch our thinking and get inspired. Because the future of digital marketing is not fixed. We build it together with curiosity, guts and a good story.
All the learnings from the sessions to make a good page, of course, we have now applied to this blog. Want to know how we implement the insights we've gained into our projects? Or would you like to spar together about your digital strategy? Let us know!
