Just some technical information: .NET is a framework developed by Microsoft.
The framework provides a secure and stable foundation for our website development, without relying on third-party developers. Umbraco is built as a layer on top of Microsoft .NET, allowing us to reuse all the concepts Microsoft uses. For example, the User and Member authentication part works on the basis of the .NET Membership Framework.
