Desktop websites no longer important to Google

It has been the case for some time that Google prioritizes mobile websites in search results over those that are not optimized for mobile.

But now Google is going to be even stricter. After the summer (September 2020), desktop websites are no longer important to Google and the mobile website will determine the success of your online findability.

Is your website mobile friendly?

Is your website optimized for mobile? Top! Your online findability will not be adjusted with it. Is your website not optimized for mobile? Then now is really the time to change it. If you don't, you will sink to the 3rd or 5th search page in Google starting next September.

How do you know if your website is mobile-friendly?

We have a few steps to check if your website is mobile-friendly and needs to be optimized for mobile:

1. Mobile-friendly
Google has developed a tool for this where you can easily check for yourself if your website is mobile-friendly. Go to search.google.com to check it.

2. Loading speed
The loading speed of your mobile website is also incredibly important. When the loading time of your website increases from 1 to 5 seconds, this already causes a 90% decrease in your website visitors. You can also check the loading speed yourself by going to developers.google.com

3. Graphics
How does the website look graphically on mobile? Are all texts fully visible? Are titles not cut off halfway through? Are the images (single and headers) fully displayed? Check this via your own cell phone or resize your web page to non-screen-filling. The browser should then automatically scale to different sizes. If this is not the case, then your website is not suitable for mobile viewing.

4. Functioning
How does my website function on mobile? What is the ease of use on mobile? Users navigate through your website on mobile by using their fingers. This means that different buttons should not be too close together so that they are always easily clickable. Also look at how pop-ups are displayed on mobile and whether they are easy to click away. Nothing is more frustrating than when they get stuck in the screen.

Is your website not suitable for mobile? We're going to help you!

We set in motion the following roadmap:

Step 1: Analysis
In addition to your own analysis, if any, we will also do an analysis. What does it take to make your website mobile friendly.

Step 2: Discussion
We will go through the analysis with you personally, together with a cost indication. This gives you insight into what needs to be done and what costs you can expect. Completely open and without obligation.

Step 3: Implementation
After approval of the analysis and cost indication, we will implement it. You will receive a schedule in advance so you know when it will be completed.

Step 4: Follow-up
After your website is optimized for mobile, we can offer you a subscription to continue monitoring and optimizing your website. We will map out the goals of the website and will monitor and/or adjust on a monthly basis. All in consultation with you for the highest possible result.
