LG Climate, a long-time valued customer of ours, is one of the world's largest electronics and heat pump/air conditioning manufacturers. In a large number of markets, LG is known for its innovations, reliability and extensive product range. This range offers business solutions for companies of all shapes and sizes. We were asked to develop an advanced Heat Pump Configurator for these customers in Umbraco CMS.
In other words, an online application in which you as a customer can put together your own product. At that time, LG was still using an outdated system to generate heat pump configurations and was looking for a modern and efficient solution. They wanted to enable their customers to easily and efficiently put together a heat pump configuration, from which they could also generate a PDF report.
Intuitive and user-friendly
The challenge? To develop an intuitive and user-friendly configurator that will allow LG customers to select different parameters and generate detailed configuration reports based on them. It was therefore important for our developers to understand the different heat pump types, determine the appropriate output and define the configurations (such as heating with or without domestic hot water).

Results with structured process
We started building a comprehensive front-end (HTML/Javascript) and back-end (Umbraco CMS/C# .NET) solution: the LG Heating Configurator. The configurator guides users through a structured process in which they go through the following steps:
- Heat pump type selection: customers can select the desired type of heat pump based on their needs and preferences.
- Specify output: the configurator allows users to choose the desired output, such as 16 kW/3 phase.
- Select configuration: customers can specify whether they want to use the heat pump only for heating or also for domestic hot water.
- Generate report: after going through the configuration steps, the user can generate a detailed report in PDF format, which contains essential information for installers.
Results
With just a few steps, LG customers already have the answer they are looking for! The report that comes out of the above steps contains all the chosen options, technical specifications and other relevant data needed for effective heat pump installation. Prices are also listed here. Customers can now effortlessly generate and share their customized configurations with installers, making the whole process more efficient and sophisticated. This solution has not only met LG's requirements, but has also contributed to our own position as a reliable and innovative technology partner.

Another fun fact, this LG Heating Configurator has won no less than 2 "LG best practice case awards" and we are extremely proud of that! In addition, we continue to develop, as we are also currently working on an expansion of this tool. Do you think a 3rd award can be brought in?
