For more than fifty years, Veld has been the service provider in refrigeration solutions. Veld is active in the industrial sector, but also the hospitality industry or at retail companies; from refrigeration systems in factories to the cold rooms in the Kiosk at the train station.
This family business values innovation, which is why it was time for a new website, topped off with a brand new web shop.
New customized website and web shop
The old website was mainly focused on giving the visitor as much information as possible. Our challenge lay in making the information clear and sorted.
We did this in two ways: by building a new website, and by creating a web shop. The website has been given a nice, fresh look. Veld had little contact with the end users and wanted to get to know their target group better, so that they can also continue to develop themselves. Through this, Veld has direct contact with their customers.
PIM (Product Information Management) System
This webshop works differently than an 'ordinary' webshop CMS. Because the amount of information is so large, and therefore the risk of a slow working system as well, we made the choice to work with a PIM system.
PIM is a software application with which all available information about products (including links between products, spare parts and brochures) are made clear. Because we use this system, the webshop maintains its fast operation. We built a webshop with a lot of customization in it. That is quite a challenge, but it ensures that the webshop functions just right for the customer. The customization is primarily aimed at supporting Veld's processes.

Virtual Reality Opportunities
We like to look at how we can make the work even more efficient. Therefore, together with Veld, we are investigating whether we can use new interactive technology.
For example, we are looking at using VR (Virtual Reality) to virtually furnish kitchens with refrigeration systems before they are actually installed. Customers can see exactly which appliance will be placed where, so any redesign afterwards will not be necessary. That makes a huge difference in costs!
Result
We are in an ongoing process with Field, always looking at where we can help, whether it's at the strategic, technological or design level.
In the end, we not only delivered a website and web shop, but more importantly built a long-term relationship with the client that we are proud of!
